Common features across the three new styles include web and compression straps to secure skis, adjustable back panel for proper fitting and a sternum strap with emergency whistle and a pocketed hip belt Alpinizmo Rapid 50High Peak beefed up the design by using 1000D PU polyester on the pack's bottom. A zippered shelf transforms the main compartment to two compartments. Additional straps connecting the pack's top to the harness and from the pack to the waist belt should help with heavier loads. Alpinizmo Rapid 40Similar to the Rapid 50, 1000D PU polyester reinforces the bottom of the pack. Bungees cords on front panel holds trekking or ski poles. A "Y" shaped aluminum stay in the back panel provides extra support for heavier loads. (MSRP $134)

High Peak announced three new packs to the company's Rapid line – Rapid 50, Rapid, 40 and Rapid 35 – in a press release. The new additions will be available for the Winter 2011 season. Each comes loaded with features for use on land, water and snow.
