The ISIS Misty Mountain Jacket is a lightweight (12.8 ounces) waterproof shell for three seasons of wear. It’s durable, comfortable and roomy for scrambling hikes and semi-fitted for a feminine silhouette.
The exterior can take hits from spiky Juniper branches and saw palms of a thick north Florida trail. The Misty Mountain Jacket features taped seam construction, and is rated guaranteed waterproof.
The outer shell is sewn from durable rip-stop material. The printed inner lining has a comfortable, soft waxy feel. The fabric contains a special protein formulated to reduce condensation allowing body moisture to travel through the fabric without letting wind and moisture in.
It has breathability and venting even during muggy Florida afternoon showers. When swiftly hiking on a 69 degrees day, the ISIS Misty Mountain Jacket got a bit steamy, but unzipping the 13” elbow to armpit vents cooled the interior temperature.
The roll-down hood is large enough to accommodate a cap if needed. It has a sturdy brim that kept a light rainfall at bay. In a downpour, the drawstrings can be tightened around the hood and waist to keep under garments perfectly dry.
The sleeve length is ample for average to long arm length with elastic and Velcro cuffs and the body length in size eight is 28” which will hit most trekkers at the hip. Because the fit is slim, colder climate hikers might want to size up to accommodate thicker layering.
The Misty Mountain Jacket has lots of storage – featuring two inner mesh pockets, and two well-placed hand pockets, one of which converts to a stuff pocket in case the skies clear up.
The ISIS Misty Mountain Jacket has great technical features for a low price; the styling is from a company made up mostly of women who know their audience. (MSRP $99)
