The shoes are the sixth edition of the popular Cascadia line, and boast some improvements over previous editions. They have a new outsole with more traction, and the Brooks DNA material is now in the midsole as well as the heel and forefoot. A new pivot post in the medial forefoot provides increased flexibility in varying terrain.

Available for men and women, the Cascadia 6 has a breathable upper that keeps feet cool and comfortable even in hot-weather runs. The combination of mesh and synthetic suede does allow water in, but it also has technology to get the water out quickly.

Brooks Logoimages/BrooksWearing down the Brooks Cascadia 6 will take a while, but once these shoes are finally retired, they will biodegrade more quickly thanks to a compound called BioMoGo, found in most Brooks shoes. Comfortable, adaptable and eco-friendly, these are the shoes to get for people who want just one pair of shoes. (MSRP $110)
