Denver-based sport sunglass manufacturer, Optic Nerve, announced the unveiling of three new performance eyewear pieces at the 2010 Inerbike Expo in Las Vegas, Nevada occurring slated for September 22-24, 2010. The new pieces will be available to consumers in 2011 and are touted for cyclist-specific designs and improvements to several key features. All three pieces are priced from $49 to $79.
Thujone is a full coverage rimless, mono-lens design with a durable frame and an adjustable ridge. The Thujone comes with four sets of interchangeable vented polycarbonate lenses. The retail price will be $79.

Honey Stinger, a manufacturer of honey-based nutritional products, announced the introduction of the Stinger Waffle to the U.S. market. The driving force behind the product was the company’s co-owner, legendary cyclist Lance Armstrong.
Armstrong hatched the idea for the Stinger Waffles from stroopwafels. A stroopwaffel consists of two thin layers of baked batter filled with a syrupy filling. They are popular with cyclists in Europe who are looking for a quick burst of energy.

The Remix line is a new style designed for smaller faces. The Remix line feature double-layer lenses, vented frames, and are helmet ready.

The Sporting Goods Manufacturing Association (SGMA) has published its list of ‘America’s Fittest Cities’. SGMA compiled the list from the results of their annual sports participation survey from a sample of 40,000 Americans age six and higher.

Geigerrig, a new brand specializing in hydration products for the outdoors, introduced their line of hydration packs and systems at the Outdoor Retailer Summer Market 2010 and announced their new releases due out for the holiday shopping season.
Four packs are available at retailers with prices from $110 to $140. A filtration model will be introduced to holiday shoppers.

Leki, a leading manufacturer for poles made for about every outdoor activity, announced a sponsorship agreement with five-time Olympic Medalist and two-time World Champion Bode Miller. The deal will last through the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi, Russia.
The four-year pactl locks Miller into training and competing exclusively with LEKI poles, gate guards and shin guards.

Columbia Sportswear Company opened the second day of the Outdoor Retailer Summer Market with an announcement that will continue to change the waterproof design of the company's gloves and footwear. Columbia has signed an agreement to acquire OutDry brand and related business from Nextec S.r.l. The acquisition is expected to close during the third quarter of 2010.
