Showers PassLogoA new cycling hydration system will be available at retailers in July 2011, VelEau 42 Bicycle Mounted Hydration System by Showers Pass. The company is best known for windproof and waterproof cycling gear.

The VelEau 42 fits under the saddle. A hydration tube runs along the stem, down tube and ends at the head tube. The bite valve is held in place by a magnet at the head tube.

A cyclist grabs the bite valve and lifts it to their mouth to hydrate. After quenching their thirst, just release the bite valve and it automatically snaps back in place on the magnet. Two retractable reels ensure the bite valve returns to its resting place on the magnet.

The Shower Pass VelEau 42 eliminates toting around a hydration pack and the dangers of reaching down for a water bottle and prying it from its cage. It holds 42 ounces (1.25 liters) of water and has a built-in tool bag for snacks and emergency essentials.
