Zeal Optics LogoZeal Optics announced an expansion to its Transcend GPS goggle line in a press release. Zeal’s Transcend GPS models boast vertical odometer technologies and real-time access to your speed, altitude, temperature and time. The goggles transfer the collected data to your Mac or PC, and you can view your fastest speeds, vertical distances covered and relive your ski runs on Google Earth.

Three new models will be available for 2011/2012. Zeal will offer the Sperical Photochromatic (PX) model in its Transcend GPS 1.0 series. The PX model features a UV-activated lens that changes from a clear tint in low light to a dark rose/brown tint in brighter light (MSRP $399). The new PX model joins the original Spherical Polarized (SPX) already available in retailers.

The Spherical Polarized & Photochromic model (SPPX) is the jewel in the new Transcend GPS 2.0 series. The SPPX cuts glare and automatically adjusts to the sun’s rays. The SPPX’s in-goggle displays enhanced performance statistics including a patented real-time Jump Feature. Three frame colors will be offered – Carbon Matte Black, Carbon Matte White and Carbon Matte Gold (MSRP $549).

The company expects to announce additional offerings for the Transcend GPS 2.0 series soon. Zeal is touting that one of the new Transcend GPS 2.0 models may pair with Recon Instruments new Android platform.

The new models will be available at specialty online and brick-and-mortar retailers and on the company’s web site.
