The mere mention of ultraviolet (UV) light in any conversation follows with how horrible it is for your skin. Overexposure to UV light can cause serious damage to your skin. Though, UV light has many benefits including its use in the SteriPEN Journey LCD.

SteriPEN, headquartered in the Maine coastal town of Blue Hill, was granted its first patent in 1999 and sold its first water purifying device the same year. Amongst its products is the SteriPEN Journey LCD which has been decorated with several awards including the Best Travel Gadget in 2009 by Travel + Leisure magazine.

Petzl has introduced this spring the Tikka Plus 2 to its line of headlamps. The Tikka Plus 2 is designed as an all-purpose headlamp and is marketed for use for the outdoors and around the home.

The Petzl Tikka Plus 2 is advertised as lighting up to 35 meters with its 50 lumens white LED. Petzl boasts a 140 hour burn time when the headlamp is set to the economic mode. It comes with a basic elastic headband, but it is compatible with the Petzl ADAPT system, so the Tikka Plus 2 can have multiple mounting options (e.g. bicycle handle bars, helmet, belt, etc.).
