Instead of using Gore-Tex, Lafuma uses OutDry, a new technology that is advertised as 100% waterproof and highly breathable. The lacing system steers far from conventional. A dual toggle system gives you the ability to adjust the upper and lower parts of the shoe differently. The Lafuma Sky Race OT has a mesh upper and a synthetic lining. It has an EVA midsole and a Vibram outersole. The mid-set lugs are 'spot on' for a trail running shoe. The arch support is sufficient and the fit was perfect giving enough room in the toe box without it being too roomy.
The only negative from the shoe is the lacing system. It makes you do a double take when you first see it. Although, it was tough to warm up to. The flap that covers the top toggle can become cumbersome especially if you need to stop mid-run and make an adjustment.
